Design Automation: From Early Massing in Rhino to Detailed Revit

This presentation explores an evolving workflow that automates the transition from conceptual massing in Rhino to detailed BIM models in Revit. The process has been tested and refined through architecture students, providing valuable insights into its practical applications and limitations.

By experimenting with different types of geometry and massing, the workflow addresses the challenges of translating conceptual designs into precise, detailed Revit models. Automation tools enhance both design flexibility and efficiency, reducing manual input while maintaining accuracy.

Attendees will gain insight into how automation can bridge the gap between creativity and documentation, showcasing a streamlined approach for integrating Rhino and Revit in early design stages.

Key Learning Outcomes:

1.Understand the challenges and opportunities of automating the transition from Rhino massing to Revit detailing.
2.Explore how automated tools can simplify and optimize early-stage design workflows without requiring advanced scripting knowledge.
3.Learn from real-world testing and experimentation, demonstrating how complex geometries can be automated effectively.
