3 Practical Applications of AI Pair Programming in BIM

This presentation explores how AI pair programming enhances BIM workflows by automating repetitive tasks. Through three practical examples, we'll demonstrate its transformative impact.

First, checking five parameters in over 600 PDFs was automated using Bluebeam OCR and an AI-generated VBA script. This streamlined data extraction, compliance checks, and reporting, saving significant time and ensuring accuracy.

Second, enforcing a complex file naming convention for 600+ files was simplified with a JavaScript tool created with AI. The script checked compliance, identified errors, and generated summary reports, eliminating the need for manual reviews.

Lastly, construction verification was improved by comparing point cloud data to design models. Using Dynamo in Revit and an AI-generated Python node, deviations were measured, annotated in the model, and exported into detailed reports, enabling precise analysis.

These examples highlight how AI in BIM reduces manual effort, enhances efficiency, and ensures better project outcomes.
