Faiz Shapiai is an accomplished civil and structural engineer with 18 years of experience in civil engineering, structural design, and Building Information Modelling (BIM). He currently serves in the BIM Unit, Integrated Asset Planning Branch, Public Works Department (JKR) Malaysia, where he plays a pivotal role in providing technical advisory services and ensuring the successful implementation of BIM across JKR and the Malaysian construction industry.

Throughout his career, Ir. Ts. Mohd Faiz has been instrumental in the analysis and design of structural projects for the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education during RMK-9 and RMK-10. He has also contributed to forensic analysis of building structures and taught design software, such as Orion and Staad Pro, for JKR projects. In 2012, he supervised road construction projects in Batu Pahat, Johor, further showcasing his versatility and expertise.

As a registered Professional Engineer (BEM) and Professional Technologist (MBOT), he is affiliated with esteemed organizations, including the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) and ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE). Certified as a Revit Architecture and Structure Professional, he is also a Master Trainer for BIM CIDB.

Currently serving as Vice Chairman II of the Malaysia BIM Organization, Ir. Ts. Mohd Faiz actively trains professionals and speaks at national events. He holds a Bachelor�s in Civil Engineering and a Master�s in Project Management from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).
