Maisara Al Rais
Maisara got extensive hands-on experience working in digital engineering and construction
management in Australia and Overseas for multi-discipline projects from pre-investment to
hand-over and O&M stages.
Being on a Client-side or a contractor side, Maisara successfully developed and simulated
realistic and achievable projects, considering the risk factors with mitigation actions, bridging
the gap between digital capabilities and projects' financial and deliverables expectations, and
utilising the benefits of using digital capabilities to maximise efficiency.
Maisara successfully delivered several 4D,5D/ and 7D BIM projects with clients and
contractors, supporting the digital transformation in many organisations and projects, with
practical knowledge of the related standards – ISO 19650, ISO 19115 and ISO 16739.
Also, Maisara has a long experience using data analytics to support data-driven decisions in
project management and connecting the asset data with the designed Models.

Title: Understanding openBIM: The Future of Building Information Modeling Introduction: Building Information Modeling (BIM) has revolutionized the way we design and construct buildings. However, the lack of interoperability between BIM tools has become a major challenge for the construction industry. This is where openBIM comes in - an open approach to BIM that allows different software applications to communicate and exchange information seamlessly. In this presentation, we will explore the concept of openBIM and its significance for the construction industry. Body: What is openBIM? Definition of openBIM How it differs from traditional BIM Key principles of openBIM Why openBIM is important The problem with closed BIM systems The benefits of openBIM for the construction industry The role of openBIM in promoting collaboration and data exchange How openBIM works The role of Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) The importance of standardized data exchange Examples of openBIM software applications Challenges and limitations of openBIM Technical challenges of implementing openBIM The need for industry-wide adoption Potential limitations of openBIM Future of openBIM Emerging trends and innovations in openBIM Potential impact on the construction industry The role of openBIM in driving digital transformation in the built environment Conclusion: OpenBIM is a game-changer for the construction industry, enabling greater collaboration and efficiency in the design and construction process. While there are challenges and limitations to be addressed, the potential benefits of openBIM are significant. By adopting an open approach to BIM, we can create a more sustainable and resilient built environment for future generations.
