What to expect during the event

Successful information exchange is crucial for projects to succeed, that include the deliverables of any project’s stages which shall fulfill the requirements of the succeeding stage (RIBA, 2020). But in fact, AEC industry still fragmented in many regions around the globe where IPD and BIM still not fully adopted, and teams still work in silo during different phases which affect BIM uses, especially in project managerial tasks such as time and cost related due to the separation and lack of collaboration between design and construction teams.

In addition, the fragmentation in the AEC industry may also reflect the fragmentation in process and policies by which there is limited mention of BIM in project management references and vice versa. Moreover, although BIM implementation was discussed to high extend in many papers, the utilization of BIM into managerial activities still unclear especially in the middle east and north Africa region.

As a result, defining the most pressing causes of the gap, and most effective solution is one of the presentation's aims along with a framework that is mixing several standards to provide a general overview of project process.

BIM status in the region, integration of standards (ISO 19650-2, BS 8536-1), cost estimation of a project based on NRM.
