Richard Scott
Chief Partnership Officer
Twinview Limited
Richard is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in the AECO sector. He is a technology enthusiast and has been at the forefront of driving innovation and digital transformation in the industry. In 2001, Richard and his team at MCS pioneered the use of mobile technology for point-of-activity inspections in live construction projects, with a focus on quality and inspections. This ground-breaking work was inspired by the Egan report's findings and set the sector's standard for mobile technology innovation. During his 14 years leading MCS, Richard witnessed the industry slowly shift its perspective to embrace data and technology. He is convinced that AECO has not yet achieved the full potential of digital transformation. Still, he believes the industry is at a turning point and poised for significant technological change driven by a data-first approach, emerging technologies like AI, and a new generation of digital natives taking up leadership positions within the industry. Richard is customer-centric and has extensive experience in various aspects of business, including Business Development, Sales, Product Management, Marketing, and Strategy. He enjoys developing technology-based solutions that make a difference. As the Chief Partnership Officer at Twinview, an AECO Digital Twin solution, Richard works closely with innovators and early adopters to deliver cutting-edge solutions. He has first-hand experience with technology adoption and has previously crossed the chasm. Richard is excited by the endless possibilities for connected digital twins and the new perspectives and insights that can only be discovered when we connect the digital and natural worlds.
What to expect during the event
Digital Twins are an emerging technology that extends the data-centric philosophy of BIM into the natural and dynamic world of building facility operations. With their potential to solve some of the world's most significant challenges, they are gaining widespread attention in the AECO sector. However, Digital Twins are often misunderstood and perceived differently by different people, from a photo-realistic model to a data-centric solution with no visualisation. Richard will share his perspective on Digital Twins in this presentation and help the audience understand their fundamental concepts. He will explain the relationship between BIM and Digital Twins, why they matter, and what problems they can solve. Richard will also discuss how Digital Twins can add value to new build projects and legacy assets. In an engaging and easy-to-understand style, Richard will present the audience with a clear understanding of what a Digital Twin is and what it can do. He will also offer a glimpse into the future, imagining where Digital Twins and other emerging technologies could take us. By the end of the presentation, the audience will leave with a deeper understanding of Digital Twins and their potential to transform the AECO industry.
