I am a digital delivery director at Orascom Development Holding with 17 years of experience. Orascom is one of the leading international developers in seven countries in Europe and MENA. I have managed the implementation of the BIM system and integrated digital delivery across the whole project lifecycle. I aim to enhance knowledge for successful BIM adoption in the Middle East, which is why I am a member of the BuildingSMART UAE Chapter and a Nima International Ambassador. I have taught PAS 1192 and the ISO 19650 series to more than 3,000 postgraduate students in many universities and institutes. I've participated in educational-wide initiatives, including at Egyptian and international universities; I've delivered many keynote speeches, lectures, and workshops towards a successful BIM implementation in Egypt's construction industry.
What to expect during the event
The ISO 19650 series is going to have a significant impact on the whole construction industry globally. Until now, the PAS 1192 series was the reference for BIM Level 2 in the Middle East. Currently, the ISO 19650 series creates a new era in the construction industry. The global construction community now refers to these series for the digital transformation of the built environment. Providing international standards to support the information management process is crucial. Each region or country can add its own recommendations to ISO 19650 in the form of a national annex. The aim of the session is to provide a theoretical framework for the adoption of the UK National Annex to ISO 19650 in the Egyptian context.
