What to expect during the event

Why getting BIM certified if you already got the job you wanted? You may have even had it for several years, and by now you well and truly know the dos and don'ts of BIM. There are plenty of arguments for both sides. For the most part, certifications (or at least, the act of getting them) usually add value. This session will explore the pros and cons of BIM certification. Not all education providers are made equal. Some will provide you with the certification, but not the quality education behind it. It is important to research providers and the course content in advance and settle on an institution that knows what they are doing. Quoting the buildingSMART International website, their "Professional Certification enables learning organisations to educate and certify individuals according to a recognised global learning framework." This session will explore how the buildingSMART PCERT program which is being adopted in Europe, Asia, Australasia, and the Americas, can be used as proof of competence for professionals working with BIM. • Understand how the PCERT program looks to address standardisation in BIM education. • Learn how the international framework for the PCERT program creates a benchmark for training and certification. • Discover how the PCERT program can help you to demonstrate your knowledge is consistent with international standards and best practices.
