Fernando Morales Tosar
Fernando Morales is CEO of BIM6D and POWERBIM digitaltwin platform. He is Architect, Digital Innovation Manager with more than 15 years of experience in the sector, is specialized in using technology to improve the lifecycle of the assets. Fernando started collaborating in hospitals and other facilities using CAD and 3d models, separately, soon discovered than 3d models can be used to simulate, to incorporate databases for sustainability and energy efficiency calculations, and he specialized in LEED, BREEAM, PASSIVE HOUSE at the same time he specialized in BIM, so the goal was clear: to use of BIM for the sixth dimension to improve buildings and infrastructures thanks to simulations. He has the opportunity to collaborate in multiple projects and detected that data is not in the center, so he decided to create POWERBIM, to highlight the POWER of data of multiple sources combined, including real time data and simulations, so POWERBIM is a digitaltwin platform for lifecycle asset management. Today, Fernando and BIM6D / POWERBIM team are exploring the way to integrate digitaltwins in the metaverse, thanks to count with corporate clients, in projects like (airports, logistic centers, skyscrapers, stadiums…) aimed to use technology to find new use cases and opportunities to improve the sector and for us, as citizens, to be able to live in better cities, more smart and sustainable.
What to expect during the event
I will address how digitization technologies are evolving at a dizzying pace in our sector, from BIM that is already being used by professionals, architects, engineers, construction companies to generate an as-built digital model, to the digital twin that connects to the physical entities to monitor and simulate the systems behavior for asset management, and the scale-up to the metaverse where all the value chain, including the end user, will be able to create new opportunities. So we will highlight: • How the use of a BIM in the cloud, let us the door open to explore new use cases in where data transfer, coordination and communication using BIM models is possible and we are starting to standardize the use of BIM, so we are in Level 2 • How there are a huge amount of data, real time data and simulations, artificial intelligence technologies that are not BIM, but we need to use it and combine with it to explore new possibilities, so we are in the era of Digital Twins, in Level 3, the evolution of BIM. • But the future is coming, and for us it has a name: Metaverse, is the new era of Technology for all sectors, and our professionals need to be ready and aware to take the wave that is coming, the Level 4, a world of possibilities. • But we have a responsibility as professionals, to use Technology in benefit of positive global purposes, this is necessary, this is urgent and this is our responsibility.
