Creating a comprehensive HBIM model for ancient architectural structures necessitates the integration of various disciplines. In this context, two pivotal challenges emerge: the development of a parametric model for fundamental components that incorporates historical knowledge effectively, and the implementation of an intelligent modeling method for these components. These challenges are essential in bridging the current gap and optimizing the application of HBIM.
By adopting this semi-automatic modeling approach, we can reduce the cost and time required for manual modeling of Heritage point cloud models, thereby increasing productivity and HBIM modeling efficiency. Ultimately, the study suggests potential areas of future investigation aimed at the development of a more advanced, fully automated standalone platform for Heritage point-cloud modeling.
