Araj has over 16 years' experience in the co-ordination and documentation of major infrastructure and building design, as well as BIM Coordination, and has been involved with a wide range of infrastructure and building projects such as Metro stations, bridges, tunnels, shopping centres, warehouses, hotels, schools and high rise residential and commercial buildings, using various construction methods such as tunneling, piling and shoring, reinforced and post-tensioned concrete, precast concrete, and structural steel. He is an Autodesk Accredited Professional in Revit Structures, and is proficient in the use of ACC, Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks, ProjectWise, ReCap and Revizto software packages.

 What to expect during the event

This case study will showcase how we dismantled an existing 1970s commercial tower�consisting of 46 floors standing at 188 m (617 ft) tall�and upcycled it to win Building of the Year 2022 at the World Architecture Festival 2022! The international, award-winning, high-rise Quay Quarters Tower retained 70% of the existing structure while doubling the NLA (net lettable area) in its retrofitting process. Autodesk building information modeling (BIM) technologies helped the team save 12,000+ metric tons of embodied carbon, as well as reduce construction time and environmental impact. We'll cover the digital efficiencies achieved during the design process of such a significantly large high-rise project through the use of Revit software, ReCap Pro software, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Navisworks software, and numerous structural design specialist software systems.
