BIM Change Manager
I am the BIM / Change Manager at Southern Regional College (SRC), overseeing the implementation of digital processes on their award-winning capital projects, as well as ongoing minor works and facilities management. I am an Architect and qualified Passive House designer, as well as a founding partner of a Belfast-based architectural practice. In 2016, I became an Innovation Technology Specialist with SRC where I developed several Level 4 & Level 5 BIM collaboration qualifications which I now deliver to industry. I am a member of the BIM Steering Group for Northern Ireland and Chair of the Royal Society of Ulster Architects BIM Task Group, having previously chaired their Sustainability Committee.
What to expect during the event
The presentation covers the lessons learned by SRC from their award-winning new build projects at Armagh and Banbridge, as well as their implementation of BIM at facilities management stage in their existing estate. SRC’s latest EIR follows 3 simple steps:
- Step 1 covers the importance of SRC’s role in (M/T)IDPs and how they define the scope of services for
the information managers.
- Step 2 follows the implementation of BIM and how SRC have benefited from the use of new
technologies winning a UK procurement innovation award as well as a global NEC award following their
use of VR, AR, drones, time-lapse photography, etc.
- Step 3 monitors the progress of the deliverables using dashboards for models, data validation (COBie),
documents and ISO19650 activities.
