BIM Strategy Lead
Johnny Furlong is responsible for leading the BIM strategy in L&Q (one of the UK largest housing association), he is focused on using digital and information management techniques (including BIM) to solve the issues of Building Safety and Quality in the construction industry.
His focus the last few years has been on researching, designing and testing solutions for the Golden Thread of information for Building Safety. Johnny is vice-chair of the Golden Thread Initiative (GTI) which is chaired by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities and feeds into the Building Regulations Advisory Committee (BRAC) Golden thread working group which supports the developing golden thread policy.
Johnny has implemented BIM and digital strategies in a range of organisations in a wide range of industries including: Housing Associations, Principle Contractors, Subcontractors, Architects and Engineers. He has extensive experience managing BIM and digital construction on large scale projects ranging in value from £20m to £500m.
With over a decade’s experience of BIM in construction Johnny understands how inventiveness, creativity, information management and thinking differently will lead to the step change that is needed in the construction industry.
