BIM Project Leader

David Shepherd is BIM Project Leader for the UK House of Commons. In this role, he assures the delivery of improved project and asset outcomes from BIM for Parliament’s In-house Services and Estates organisation.
Before that, he led the Autodesk EMEA team of international consultants which implement BIM 360 solutions for some of the world's largest design and construction customers.
His background in Design Technology and Construction Engineering is complemented by three decades of leadership and implementation experience in CAD and BIM for top tier international design practices and contractors.
The highlights of his career include BIM leadership on many major international projects, such as HOK’s schematic design of the 8.5 million sq. ft. Research and Development facility for the LG conglomerate in South Korea (LG Science Park).
At HOK, he also led an international team in BIM project delivery for New Papworth Hospital (built by Skanska UK) in Cambridge, England; RiMED Biomedical facility in Sicily and the 100% Design Development submission for Lusail Commercial District in Qatar.
At Lendlease, he was BIM Manager for The International Quarter in Stratford, London.
As a BIM consultant, he implemented model-based coordination for Al Mafraq Hospital in Abu Dhabi.
David is also the author of the BIM Management Handbook, which was commissioned by the Royal Institute of British Architects and BIM Level 2 guidance, commissioned by the British Standards Institution.
In conjunction with AECOM, he wrote the BIM Strategy and Implementation Plan for the Restoration and Renewal of the Palace of Westminster.
